A new integrated cancer Infusion centre.

Be part of something life-changing.

Every year more New Zealanders are diagnosed with cancer, and that number is rising fast.

We have an opportunity to create something special: A New Zealand leading, Integrated Infusion Centre at North Shore Hospital that provides the very best care close to home.

The need

  • Cancer rates are expected to increase by 75% globally by 2050, with a 42% increase in developed countries such as ours.

  • Blood cancers, are projected to double incidence by 2035.

  • The range of conditions treated through infusion therapies, from cancer to autoimmune and neurological diseases, is set to double by 2040 as medicine advances toward immune and cellular treatments.

Here in our community, the need is particularly urgent.

Despite serving one of New Zealand’s largest and fastest-growing populations, North Shore Hospital does not currently have a dedicated Cancer and Blood Unit.

Current infusion services are split across three small, outdated units which lack space and natural light, they do not provide the calming, restorative environment patients deserve. In addition, some patients must travel to Auckland city Hospital, as their treatment may not be provided locally.

We are committed to changing this.

We’d love you to be part of it.

The new centre aims to:

  • Bring together all infusion services under one roof.

  • Offer light-filled, comfortable treatment spaces.

  • Support cutting-edge clinical research and new therapies.

  • Provide longer opening hours and easier access across the community.

  • Enable training and development for specialist nurses to expand community-based care.

Philanthropy has always played a transformative role in healthcare, and this project will be no different.

The Well Foundation is championing the creation of the Integrated Infusion Centre, alongside Health New Zealand, as an important community health project.

Your generosity can help us:

• Ensure the very best public cancer infusion facility is realised for your community.

• Invest in equipment, technology, and training to elevate care to the very highest level.
